Allan Campbell originally trained as a Pharmacist, but being a young man finding himself confined within one space for 8-9 hours a day, the profession soon lost it's glamour image, and in 1984 he turned his attention and training to detergent chemistry. Finally at the age of 50, Allan owned and operated the most successful contract manufacturing Detergent and Sanitiser company in New Zealand, based in Hamilton. He designed formulations for equipment suppliers specialising in dairy, poultry & food processing, CIP cleaning and sanitising chemicals - thereby enhancing those companies after-sales marketing strategies. With his company also manufacturing the product he formulated, it proved to be a winning combination for all concerned, and it was one of those many companies for whom we manufactured who saw the potential in owning their own detergent manufacturing division. Their "buy-out" was completed in May of 1998.

Allan retired at 50, and we moved "back home" to the South Island, where he revelled in the opportunity to spend time fishing and enjoying his many varied interests. Over the years he has continued to do Locum work for Pharmacies, even when running his detergent business, ensuring he maintained the requisite skills expected of health professionals. In 2007, a Pharmacy came up for sale in Temuka, which happened to be where he enjoyed working from time to time, and very much enjoyed the contact with the people of Temuka.
It was financially viable to own the Pharmacy if he could also buy the other
Pharmacy in town, and combine the two. Negotiations were successful. We
purchased the first Pharmacy in November 2007 and the second in December
2007 and combined they became Temuka Pharmacy Ltd
